Introduction

Therapy For Men Who Don't Want Therapy ... Coming for counselling is probably the last thing you want to do. It may feel daunting, and expensive; something that only 'really damaged' people do. I help men have an effective, down to earth, and meaningful experience of starting therapy. The aim is to remove the stigma and mystery that so often comes with starting counselling. I typically work with men in their 30's & 40's who have been struggling with alcohol, cocaine, gambling, relationship and career issues. Using a blend of solution focused therapy, non 12-step addiction therapy, ACT, motivational interviewing & existential counselling, we would create a plan of action that fits around you. You can also expect a jargon free, empathic and supportive atmosphere, where you can have the space to be yourself. So, if this is your first time seeking help, or you have had a bad experience with therapy in the past, it would be great to hear from you. The process of talking to someone, while also exploring and learning about yourself, can be so worthwhile. I also offer an online programme for cocaine misuse, blending counselling, coaching and supportive content. Using mindfulness, CBT and harm reduction psychotherapy techniques, it is an alternative to 12 Step / Disease Model programmes. By using a label free approach & not insisting on total abstinence as the ONLY possible outcome, you can explore your own unique relationship with drugs and / or alcohol, and find what's going to work for you.
